The English Countryside is a wonderful place, I know it well and as a landscape artist I am never short of inspiration. However a river without the flash of a kingfisher, the open moors without the wheeling buzzard or a summer meadow without the soaring skylark lacks that indefinable something. I try to interpret that special harmony between the subject and its environment, to capture a moment in time and possibly allow a fleeting glimpse into Britain's wild places.
